WHAT IS NAPPY HAIR?

How to cut nappy hair. Nappy hair is a term that is associated with the hair texture of African Americans. Black people have naturally curly hair. Tightly twined and somewhat coarse hair. When wore in the natural state it can be very stunningly beautiful. Unfortunately the word nappy has been used by some people in a negative disparaging way to describe African Americans.

This has had a lasting negative affect on some black people who see their natural beautifully kinky hair as unattractive. Some choose to chemically straighten, wear a wig to cover, or outright shave it all off.

In the 17th century uncouth individuals who held the position of slave traders used the word NAPPY to describe people of African decent.

Large kinky afro hair

It must be noted that some black people choose to straighten, wear a wig covering or shave their hair NOT from any negative influences, but simply as a personal beauty choice.

HOW TO DEAL WITH KINKY HAIR IN YOUR HOUSE

Sometimes cutting your hair can be a major pain in the butt. But its something that should be done regularly to encourage hair growth. And if your trying to quickly get to that awesome afro, it sometimes seems like cutting it is going in the wrong direction.

First thing to keep in mind when dealing with curly/kinky hair is to make moisturizing priority. You should use curly hair products with the correct amount of hydrating additive. With curly or kinky hair, your entire process of hair caring should be with moisturizing in the number one spot of importance.

You should use a shampoo that specializes in suppling moisture to kinky or course hair like Shea Moisture Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Shampoo. As talked about in Stylecraze.com. Get yourself a good conditioner also. Kinky hair can withstand heavier oils that can weigh down less course hair.

Fresh fade haircut with nappy top.
FRESH FADE WITH KINKY TOP

DOES LEAVING YOUR KINKY HAIR HELP IT GROW FASTER?

Kinky hair normally has an erratic growing rhythm. Although it looks strong, it is actually more susceptible to have breakage. Kinky hair grows at the same clip as any other hair. Its not going to grow any faster or any slower by leaving it nappy. But if you totally neglect it, you might find yourself with a lot of breaks, which can eventually slow growth.

WHY WAHL CLIPPERS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST. (NAPPY HAIR EXPERIMENT)

HIP HOP BARBER

Wahl clippers are the best for nappy hair because the experiment conducted by HipHopBarbersSupply.com proves it. HHBS made a attached video with a pair of Wahl clippers. The clippers used are a pair that is at least 5 years old.

These Wahl clippers have never been maintained in any way shape or form. They have never been oiled at all. The blades were never taken off and cleaned. How many times they have been dropped on solid surfaces is at least 50 times. Its amazing that the clippers have even been dropped into water and drenched.

https://www.pinterest.com/Noonboobie/hiphopbarbersupply/

But the Wahl clippers worked perfectly in the video experiment on how to cut nappy hair. HipHopBarbersSupply CEO Greg Townes demonstrated how effortlessly the the clippers shaved his head to the skin. There was no skin pinching. The clippers were not at all noisy. The Wahl clippers was not hot to the skin. They passed every test protocol.

WHY IS BLACK HAIR SO DRY?

Anytime black peoples hair is dry, its a direct result of lack of moisture. Your head naturally provides oil for your hair. But unlike straight hair, curly, kinky hair keeps the oils from easily getting to the end of the hair. This leaves parts of the hair ends to lack in moisture. Thus causing dryness and potentially breakage.

WHAT CAUSES KINKY HAIR?

Black peoples hair in its natural state is at risk of developing a condition called lepothrix. Common everyday mechanics can possibly cause it. Simple things like scratching your scalp. The abrasion of combing can possibly cause knotting of the hair which doesn’t help.

Just wash your hair regularly, condition and moisturize. Use a nice conditioner and treat damaged hair, and you will be fine.

WHAT IS KINKY HAIR? HOW TO CUT NAPPY HAIR?

Afro-textured hair, or kinky hair, is the hair texture of populations in Africa, their diaspora and parts of Southeast Asia. Each strand of this hair type grows in a tiny, angle-like helix shape. The overall effect is such that, contrasted with straight, wavy or curly hair,[1] afro-textured hair appears denser.

Man getting beard shaved by hairdresser while in chair at barbershop.

Why you should be a barber simply put is its a awesome profession with a multitude of advantages in multiple areas, making for a fun, exciting and satisfying work environment while stacking your chips monetarily. When you arrive at work you get to frame your social network exactly the way you like. And your network is what’s rewarding to you, being the key to not only your satisfaction, but with the realization that you are your own boss who makes your own hours. But also you belong to a creative industry that allows you to get paid while socializing. How can that not be totally awesome?

WHY IS BARBERING IMPORTANT ?

Barbering is important for reasons not always seen on the surface. Have you ever noticed how new you feel after getting a fresh lineup, fade or haircut? Yes, haircuts improve your outlook on life. Barbers help us improve our self-esteem and restore confidence. When your confident it feels like the world is yours. Its nothing you cannot do. Your positive outlook actually effects the way you roll through life. Its called SWAG. Barbering is important because it restores SWAG. Barbershops also create a certain social trusting bond. People come to barbers and talk about things that are on their mind. Some people have certain days they visit the barbershop like clockwork. Some have routines they follow to the letter. The barbershop becomes a sanctuary to some with the barber being the confidant.

A barber is a person whose occupation is mainly to cut, dress, groom, style and shave men’s and boys’ hair or beards. A barber’s place of work is known as a “barbershop” or a “barber’s”. IS BEING A BARBER RIGHT FOR ME ?

Lets be honest. Being a barber is not for everyone. Some people are not willing to put in the time to build clientele required to build your barber business. Others love to cut hair but shun the responsibility of being the day to day entrepreneur. For these individuals being an employee would better suit them. Being a barber is better suited for extroverts as opposed to introverts. Extroverts are like the energizing bunny when it comes to socializing in large groups of people. They usually have a bigger network of friends instead of a couple of intimate friends. Introverts are the opposite. They thrive in spending time alone or with a smaller network of friends. Both groups have their advantages but extroverts are better suited for barbering.

IS IT TOO LATE TO BE A BARBER ?

Its never too late to get the skills needed to become a barber. Eight to eighty, blind cripple or crazy. Of course I’m joking a little, but the entire world can always use another barber. And once your qualified you can travel anywhere and ply your trade. Training usually takes approximately 2 to 3 months. Get your papers, then your off on your exciting new career path.

IS CUTTING HAIR TOO HARD ?

No it is not too hard to become a barber. But like any profession, it takes hard work. Yes you will work hard to achieve your goal, but your work will pay off if you hang tough. It takes time to become a skilled barber. Building a client network also take time. When you achieve these objectives you will reap the benefits that come with it. Some people say regarding purchasing goods “YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR”. With this, what you put into it you will get out of it. Barbers control how much money they make. Stay focused and disciplined and I’m sure you will someday be at the top. THIS COULD BE A PRISON BARBER CHAIR.

Prison barber is a great job for $2.00 a day

What prison barbers hate the most has nothing to do with barbering. Being locked up is what pisses them off.

Lets get this into perspective. Being in prison has its ups and downs. It has its perks.

Prison barbers rank up there with prison porters for out of cell time. A prison porter is a prisoner who has the job of keeping the block clean. They sweep and mop floors. Wipe down tables and other janitorial type duties.

How do prisoners get haircuts

A prison barber is let out of his cell to go to the prison barbershop. He has to set-up gear and get prepared for the days cuts.

To be a prison barber you have to have a clean disciplinary record in prison. It doesn’t matter if your a murderer.

What your in prison for is not an issue. If your behavior in prison is good, your good.

A prison barber usually is cool with just about everyone in prison.

It doesn’t matter if your a Blood, Crip, White Supremacist, Mafia hitman, or just some dude that got caught stealing a pocketbook.

MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON BARBERSHOP

Prison rules are, if you want your hair cut. your going to get it cut by whomever they choose to put as prison barber.

Now you see how over time being a prison barber can become a very powerful position. They deal with different gang factions and affiliations. Which is how they hear things.

Barbers can get words to people that are in different cell blocks. They hear the chatter of big mouth C.O’s. And one of the biggest things they can do is get word out to population from people buried in the hole. The hole is solidary confinement.

How do you get to solidary? You get there by getting rule infractions in prison.

Infractions like fighting, drug selling and sexual misconduct. A disciplinary board made up of 2 brass (Superior ranking officers), a prison counselor and a witness, who is normally a low ranking officer.

How often do inmates get haircuts in prison? What prison barbers hate the most.

Prisoners in the solitary confinement are allowed one haircut a month.

The prison barber shows up in the solidary confinement unit with his clippers it becomes a party. A welcome change from the tedious 23 hour a day lockdown.

Prisoners start yelling from their cells “Yo whaddup”. They start jockeying for position to the C.O. to be first. Its like a holiday in a cell block of the most dangerous individuals in a maximum security prison.

PRISON GATE

Its a welcomed chance for the inmates to get cleaned up a little.

And the correctional officers can get a break from getting urine and feces thrown at them every time they pass certain cells. Some of these dudes have not seen their face in a mirror for a month.

As the barber is cutting, inmates are asking questions like. What’s going on in population? Did the Patriots win Sunday?

Who got they ass whupped?

They talk about their kids, wives and girlfriends. The prison barber is in some ways like a bartender. He gives answers and listens to problems.

https://www.pinterest.com/townesgreg/

What is a Tree-jumper or Diddler in jail slang? What prison barbers hate the most.

HipHopBarbersSupplyFollow On

A bartender listens to people and its cool. People do crazy things sometimes.

On the streets some idiots like to rape other people. In prisons across the United States of America, people who commit these type of crimes are considered scumbags.

When they enter prison these inmates cannot go to general population. The fact is that other inmates will attempt to kill them.

They are called Tree Jumpers, and Diddlers by other inmates.

They end up entering what is called Protective Custody. Punk City or P.C for short. These same at risk inmates sometimes end up in solidary confinement if the PC unit is full.

The same way a prisoner cannot pick and choose what barber they want, that goes for the prison barber also. They cannot choose whos hair they want to cut. What do prison barbers hate the most? They hate having to cut a Rapist hair.

Do they force you to cut your hair in prison? Prison haircut style. What prison barbers hate the most.

You are not required to cut your hair upon entering prison now. Prison authorities were concerned about the spread of lice.

Prison officials took note that some inmates were hiding weapons like razors and sharp mettle objects in their hair.

If a prisoner refused to cut their hair. They would be subject to disciplinary actions. They could lose good time or be tossed in the hole.

This all changed when a prisoner refused to cut his hair on religious grounds. he was a Rastafarian who refused to cut his dreadlocks. He partitioned the courts and the courts ruled in his favor.

Department of Corrections cannot force inmates to cut their hair. Its now law. It violates religious freedom.

How much does a prison haircut cost?

Prison haircuts do not cost the inmate any money. A prison barber cuts the inmates hair with equipment that belongs to the Department of Corrections. The barber gets $2.00 a day payment to his prison account that he can use for commissary.

Inmates that receive haircuts are not allowed to tip the prison barber.

But before cigarettes were banned. Prisons in the United States. Prisoners would routinely tip barbers with cigarettes’. Cigarettes were inmate currency back in the day.

Girl Prison haircuts.

Protocol in woman prisons are the same as men’s prisons. There are not any beauty salons in a woman’s prison.

Inmates can get their hair cut once a week.

Prisoners submit their names to a barber list. And the list is on a first come first served basis.

And like the men’s prison, no payment required, the cuts are free.

WOMAN PRISONERS HAIRCUTS.

Haircut styles are plain nothing fancy. Woman inmates like their male counterparts are able to order some basic cosmetics from commissary if they have money in their prison accounts.

They by things like skin lotion, hair grease and such.

Certain grooming items are allowed to be kept in your cell.

Plastic combs, plastic hair brush are two. Inmates braid each others hair.

They are only allowed plastic items. Inmates take metal objects and turn them into weapons. That’s why metal is not allowed.

Why prisoners hair is cut at execution?

It is no complicated reason why they cut a doomed inmates hair. Electrical current needs to pass unhindered. Applied directly to the skin, current flows faster.

Hair could potentially slow down the current, thus slowing the execution. This could make the execution painful for inmate. You could say its a humanitarian gesture.

Prison barbers perfect their craft because they simply get more practice. It is not much to do in prison but workout or read books to learn something new or start trouble.

Starting trouble ends up getting you sent to the solitary confinement.

Prison Barbers have nothing but time to get better at cutting. I’m talking about hair of course.

If your a shop owner and your looking to rent out a chair in your shop. And a guy walks into your shop and tells you he just got out of prison. Make sure you hire him because you know he is a expert barber.

DONT GET YOUR ASS BEAT-UP IN THIS BARBERSHOP.

How NOT to get beat-up in a hood barbershop

BARBERS — Hip Hop Barbershop

How not to get beat-up in hood barbershop. First off, you are going to get beat up in a hood barbershop if you disrespect people. You cannot be running your mouth and think you are not going to get hit in the head with a pair of Andis clippers.

So #1 rule to keep in mind is watch how you talk to people. What you think is funny, could be offensive to somebody else. Fights have started in barbershops with little disagreements. You don’t believe me? Hit this link to HipHopBarbersSupply YouTube channel and watch barbershop fights.

Sometimes it is just a difference in favorite football teams. One guys team just beat another guys team and I’ve seen punches actually thrown because of sore losers.

Lady barber cutting hair
Barber giving that banging cut.

So be aware that some people take their sports franchises very serious. its like the way others take their politics serious.

How not to get beat-up in hood barbershop.

Which brings me to topics of conversation. Hood barbershops are like men’s country clubs in some ways. You are going to hear all kinds of talk. Sex, politics, sports, community concerns and others topics. If someone is talking about how their girl left them for their best friend. You need to stand clear of that conversation.

Hilarious phone prank by Steve Harvey’s nephew, NEPHEW TOMMY. The Blind Barber

Stay out of peoples conversation unless you know homeboy.

Another thing, if you hear somebody you don’t like just got shot last night?

Do not go saying things like “good for that jackass”. Because his brother or cousin can be sitting in the chair next to you. And when you come outside with that fresh fade, you can get faded. So just watch your mouth.

Barbershops are neutral territory

Barbershops in the hood are like a country within a country. Its neutral ground. So if your a member of gang A. But you happen to be waiting for your cut beside rival gang member B.

You WILL keep the peace. It is primarily a peace treaty for all combatants on barbershop grounds. Its a unwritten rule in any hood in the United States of America.

Don’t get me wrong. This rule has been broken many times. But people generally adhere to the truce.

How to not get beat-up in hood barbershop? Do not be trying to cut in line.

Scheduling is a huge part of the barbershop machine. For things to run smoothly there has to be a semblance of order. If you have an appointment at 1pm. But you show up at 2pm.

Do not think your jumping right in a barber chair when you walk through the door. This is one of the quickest and most reliable ways to get punched in the face in a inner city hood barbershop.

Cutting people in line will get you sucker punched or choked with the cord of a pair of Wahl clippers. And by the way if your a barber and you get too greedy trying to fit people in too tight. You could end up paying for that greediness.

https://www.pinterest.com/townesgreg/

You know it takes time to do a proper beard fade. You got to take your time for your customers.

Here is a video on HipHopBarbersSupply showing you how to properly give the illest beard fade like a pro. Click here!

Barbers take your time or you could find yourself wrapped up in your own barber neck strip. Or choked out with your own barber apron. Your barber cape doesn’t make you Superman.

Stealing

Nobody likes a thief. Barber equipment cost real money. Andis clippers. Wahl clippers. Beard trimmers, razors, and beard kits cost dollars.

Barber capes, shaving kits and lotions can be costly. So if you want to be beat up in a hood barbershop? Get caught stealing something. I’ve personally seen dudes beat down by a group of barbers for stealing.

Somebody lays their phone down and your tempted to slip it in your pocket? Keep in mind people get banged on in the hood for much less.

Well these are some things you can keep in mind when going to get that dope cut in a hood barbershop.
