Why barbers don’t like you to move when they are in the middle of a cut.

Moving during a haircut is awkward right? HipHopBarbersSupply.com conducted an interview 1-7-21 with Kevin McNeal. Kevin is a professional barber with over 35 years of experience.

He owns his own shop based out of New England. We asked him the question, what do you really dislike the most that clients do?

Without a second of hesitation he answered. What annoys me the most is when a person keeps moving while he is trying to cut their hair.

Moving during a very delicate lineup could potentially cause a haircut tragedy. It could cause a hairline error that is impossible to fix.

These kinds of mishaps are only remedied with total removal of all hair or a change in haircut style. Switching to a crazy hairstyle that only very few are brave enough to rock.

THIS MOFO FINALLY STILL ENOUGH FOR THIS HAIRCUT

Why barbers are annoyed when clients use phone during haircut. Moving during haircut is awkward right?

When a barber sits you in the chair to begin your haircut. There are a couple of things he does first. He is trying to get a look at your entire head to see if their are any problem spots he has to worry about.

Its hard for the barber to do his quick assessment if you have a cell phone glued to your ear.

He or she cannot move your head freely. He normally then applies a neck strip. The neck strip is to help with any moisture during haircut and stop cut hairs from making contact with the skin.

These are important preliminary routines barbers do that if your on the phone obstructs.

And how can he or she wrap the barber cape around you if your busy ordering a pizza on your phone? Using a phone while your barber is trying to start your haircut is not only inconvenient for the barber.

But its outright rude, selfish behavior. When you decide to go to your local barbershop for a cut. Leave your phone in the car. We know you left your tip in the car.

Barbers expect a little movement during alcohol rub, post cut. Moving during haircut is awkward right?

Any professional barber is going to hit you with the rubbing alcohol post cut. There are a couple of reasons they do this. The main reason is to sanitize all involved.

Hair clippers need to be sanitized after use with alcohol to stop spread of germs to the next client.

When you get a haircut or a shave. The blade or clippers leave really tiny abrasions in your skin. These abrasions could potentially become a breeding ground for bacteria.

Your barber normally wipes your neck and the cut areas with alcohol to prevent any future infections.

Alcohol Protects

This action protects you from getting bumps and rashes. Anytime you put alcohol on a open cut. It will sting on contact with the cut.

Even tiny cuts like the ones you receive during a shave or haircut. This is why gloves, disinfectant spray and neck strips are used.

As much as your barber does not like a jittery mover in the barber chair. They understand that when you get hit with that alcohol. You are gonna flinch. So your excused for that movement only.

So go get your fly fade and look dope everybody. Just don’t be moving too much.
